I. What is TPU

II. Characteristics of TPU

By changing the ratio of the reactants in TPU, TPU plastic can obtain products with different hardness, and with the increase of hardness, the products still maintain good elasticity. TPU material has high strength, good toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, aging resistance, and weather resistance, which are unmatched by other plastic materials. It also has many excellent functions such as high waterproofness and moisture permeability, windproofness, cold protection, antibacterial, mildew resistance, warmth retention, UV resistance, and energy release. TPU, as an elastomer, is a material between rubber and plastic, as can be seen from its rigidity. The rigidity of TPU can be measured by the elastic modulus. The elastic modulus of rubber is usually 1~10Mpa, TPU is 10~1000Mpa, and plastics (nylon, ABS, PC, POM) are 1000~10000Mpa. TPU has a wide hardness range, from Shore A 60 to Shore D 80, and has high elasticity throughout the hardness range; TPU has flexibility in a wide temperature range of -40~120℃ without plasticizers; TPU has good resistance to oils (mineral oils, animal and vegetable fats and lubricants) and many solvents; TPU also has good weather resistance and excellent resistance to high-energy radiation. Well-known wear resistance, tear resistance, and flexural strength are excellent; high tensile strength, high elongation, and low long-term compression permanent deformation rate are all significant advantages of TPU. III. Applications of TPU

TPU is widely used in medical, electronics, industrial, and sports fields. The most common typical examples include mobile phone and tablet computer protective cases, automotive parts, smart bracelets, mechanical industry parts, TPU environmentally friendly flooring, shoe soles and materials, leather clothing, bags, leather sofas, watch straps, etc., as well as high-pressure pipes, medical pipes, oil pressure pipes, air pressure pipes, fuel pipes, conveying pipes, fire hoses, wires and cables, artificial leather, synthetic leather, ropes, wires, gloves, etc., coatings, inks, and connecting materials.
