Summary: Composite fabrics are a new type of material made by bonding one or more layers of textile materials with oil glue or hot melt adhesive. Six internationally popular composite fabric processes: hot melt adhesive powder coating composite fabric process; hot melt adhesive paste point composite fabric process (PUR); hot melt adhesive powder spreading composite fabric process; hot melt adhesive double point composite fabric process;
Composite fabrics are a new type of material made by bonding one or more layers of textile materials using adhesives or hot melt adhesives. Six popular composite fabric processes internationally include: hot melt adhesive powder coating composite fabric process; hot melt adhesive paste point composite fabric process (PUR); hot melt adhesive powder spreading composite fabric process; hot melt adhesive double-point composite fabric process; polyurethane spraying composite fabric process; polyurethane roller coating composite fabric process (PU). Classified by the number of layers: Three layers: film-added composite (known as three-in-one composite in the market); Two layers: film-less composite. I. Production Principle
The core components of the composite equipment are the adhesive application device and the composite device. When the fabric (film) passes through the adhesive application device, the adhesive is squeezed out from the glue eyes of the engraving roller by the adhesive roller, and then transferred to the fabric (film). After pressing and bonding by the composite device, the initial bonding strength is obtained.
II. Adhesive Application Device
It consists of an engraving roller and an adhesive silicone pressure roller. There are two types of dot shapes on the engraving roller: rhombus and circle. Rhombus dots are arranged regularly, with consistent dots, and have relatively good water pressure resistance. Circular dots have two types of arrangements: regular and irregular, with inconsistent dot spacing, and relatively weaker water pressure resistance.
III. Maintenance and Processing
The time of maintenance and processing has a great impact on the bonding strength of the fabric and the degree of adhesive fusion. The maintenance and processing workshop is fully enclosed, and the indoor temperature and humidity are maintained at a certain level to allow the adhesive to naturally fuse. If the temperature is increased to speed up the process, the yarn is easily punctured by the needle during sewing, the hand feel becomes hard, and there will be a rustling sound when rubbed against each other, indicating that the adhesive is solidified on the fabric, making the fabric yarn hard. IV. PU Process Equipment
In traditional composite equipment, the raw adhesive is heated and dissolved in a solvent, and the adhesive is manually added to the application tank, and the solvent is evaporated by hot pressing with a large composite wheel. The curing conditions of the adhesive are 30℃×5 days, so that the solvent can be maximized volatilization.
1. Advantages: Low cost, flexible and convenient operation.
2. Disadvantages:
(1) The solvent is pungent and not environmentally friendly, and easily produces APEO and formaldehyde;
(2) Manual application is easy to mix impurities, and the amount of glue on the glue points is unstable;
(3) More adhesive is applied, resulting in a harder hand feel;
(4) Finished garments cannot be dry-cleaned.
This process has many problems, and it is not recommended to use this process unless it is a chemical fiber fabric.
V. PUR Process Equipment
Uses 100% solid content single-component reactive hot melt adhesive, containing no chemical solvents, environmentally friendly and odorless, with automatic machine application and heated adhesive tank. The curing conditions for the hot melt adhesive are 30℃ room temperature, humidity >90%, and left for 72 hours to achieve the final peeling effect.
1. Advantages
(1) Environmentally friendly and odorless, no formaldehyde;
(2) Reactive adhesive, long-lasting glue points, finished garments can be dry-cleaned;
(3) Less adhesive, soft hand feel.
2. Disadvantages
(1) Adhesive quality is very important;
(2) Less adhesive application, if the maintenance is insufficient, the peeling strength is poor. (Crosslinking agents used in PVC composite fabrics, crosslinking agent manufacturers, PVC adhesion promoters)
