III. PVC Flooring Installation and Seam Treatment

1. Basic Methods and Requirements

Use adhesive to bond the PVC flooring evenly and firmly to the floor. The overlapping sections of the flooring should be joined with a slightly visible gap, which should be within 0.2-0.5mm. (PVC eco-friendly products, eco-friendly crosslinking agents, eco-friendly plasticizers)

2. Construction Points

Use a squeegee to apply the adhesive evenly to the ground according to the adhesive application standards and dosage.

3. Types and Applications of Adhesives

(1) Dispersed flooring adhesive is a single-component adhesive suitable for bonding various PVC flooring tiles and rolls, PVC-backed carpets, ethylene asbestos boards, CV rolls, and substrates of non-absorbent floors. Drying time: approximately 10-20 minutes, flooring application time: approximately 30-40 minutes.

(2) Super strong flooring adhesive is a high-grade, strong dispersed adhesive used for bonding PVC flooring materials on floors, walls, and stairs, 2.5mm thick rubber rolls and tiles, and PVC composite flooring. Super strong flooring adhesive is suitable for various absorbent and non-absorbent floor substrates. Drying time: Wet bonding method: absorbent substrate, 10-20 minutes. Pressure-sensitive dry bonding method: non-absorbent floor substrate, 30-60 minutes. Flooring application time: Wet bonding method: absorbent substrate, 60 minutes. Pressure-sensitive dry bonding method: non-absorbent floor substrate, approximately 120 minutes.

(3) Anti-static flooring adhesive is a strong dispersed adhesive with a conductive formula, used for bonding various conductive or static dissipative PVC flooring rolls and tiles on walls/floors and stairs, as well as rubber rolls less than 3.5mm thick and rubber tiles less than 2.5mm thick. Drying time: Wet bonding method: absorbent substrate, 10-20 minutes. Pressure-sensitive dry bonding method: non-absorbent floor substrate, 30-60 minutes. Flooring application time: Wet bonding method: absorbent substrate, 60 minutes. Pressure-sensitive dry bonding method: non-absorbent floor substrate, approximately 120 minutes. (4) Flax flooring adhesive is a strong dispersed adhesive with fast and strong initial adhesion and cohesion, especially suitable for bonding flax flooring and cork flooring, and suitable for inorganic absorbent floor substrates. Drying time: 0-5 minutes. Flooring application time: approximately 15-20 minutes.

(5) Polyurethane flooring adhesive is a solvent-free, two-component polyurethane adhesive suitable for bonding PVC, rubber, flax flooring, tiles, stone, foamed polystyrene, wood, gypsum board, cement board, artificial turf, and various other materials. Suitable for various absorbent and non-absorbent floor substrates. Drying time: none. Flooring application time: approximately 40-50 minutes.

(6) Polyurethane anti-static flooring adhesive is a solvent-free, two-component polyurethane anti-static flooring adhesive that can be used for laying anti-static PVC and rubber flooring on absorbent and non-absorbent commercial and industrial floors with heavy loads. Drying time: none. Flooring application time: approximately 40-50 minutes.

4. PVC Flooring Installation Methods

First, lay the roll flooring flat on the ground. For installations exceeding 8 meters, the flooring should be divided into front and rear sections. Then roll up one side of the flooring, and evenly apply the adhesive to the rolled-up surface. After the solvent in the applied adhesive evaporates and viscosity develops, proceed with bonding. During bonding, push the flooring in the same direction to prevent air from being trapped between the flooring and the adhesive. The adhesive evaporation time varies with the construction temperature. At a normal temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, the adhesive evaporation time is 30 minutes. The adhesive changes from milky white to translucent. When touching the adhesive surface with your hand, there is no strong stickiness, then you can proceed with bonding. Timely bonding ensures that the flooring is bubble-free and does not bulge. Use the same method to bond the other half, and use a roller to press the flooring and the ground firmly in all directions; this ensures that the adhesive and flooring are bonded more tightly together. Roll over both sides with a pressure roller. If there are bubbles, use a cork or hand to push them out. After cleaning the floor, weld the seams with a welding gun after 24 hours.
