Cross-linked PVC can be produced by radiation cross-linking and chemical cross-linking methods. Cross-linked PVC products have higher mechanical strength, better dimensional stability, and superior heat resistance, wear resistance, and chemical resistance compared to ordinary PVC products. Radiation cross-linked wires can be used continuously at 100~110℃.

Polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC, is a polymer formed by the free radical polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) using initiators such as peroxides and azo compounds, or under the action of light and heat. Both polyvinyl chloride homopolymers and copolymers are collectively referred to as vinyl chloride resins.

If the composition of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and other monomer copolymer resins contains polar or large groups, the heat distortion temperature of the copolymer will increase accordingly, and its heat resistance will be better than that of PVC, resulting in heat-resistant products. The softening temperature of PVC is 78℃, while the softening temperatures of the copolymers vinyl chloride-vinyl chloride, vinyl chloride-methyl methacrylate, and vinyl chloride-acrylonitrile are 100~130℃, 85℃, and 140~150℃ respectively.
